Conversational italian, Lesson 1

Introducing Nouns

In the Italian language, nouns inflect, which means their endings can indicate gender - whether they are masculine or feminine. In English, nouns do not have this characteristic.

In Italian, there are three general categories of nouns: first declension, second declension, and third declension.

First declension nouns are masculine nouns ending with con, o being singular and i being plural.

Click on each Italian word and listen to its pronunciation; then, pronounce the Italian word yourself.
