The italian Frogmen

The Men Who Sank Colossal Battleships

Astride their torpedo, acting as frogmen, they successfully guided their leech to the target and delivered the fatal blow that sank the mighty battleship.

This action, the first in recorded history, gave birth to a new type of underwater guerilla warfare, albeit kept secret for decades well into World War II. This type of underwater guerrilla warfare brought about all kinds of changes to the traditional deployments of battleships, carriers, flotillas, supply and troop convoys, and submarines.
