Various types of ships such as the destroyer Calipso were adapted to carry the new weaponry. Supply ships such as the Monte Gargano also played critical roles for the success of their missions. Several submarines such as the lride were also re-fitted to carry the new weapons piggy-back. With everything in place, deployment of the Flotilla was next in line.
