Torna a Surriente was composed by brothers Giambattista De Curtis (1860-1920) and Ernesto De Curtis (1875-1937).

Although both were musicians, Ernest was better known as a composer, pianist and accompanist. As an accompanist to the famous tenor, Beniamino Gigli, he performed on many tours throughout the United States, South America, and Europe. He also wrote the Italian song, Non ti scordar di me.
