By the late eighteenth century, the Neapolitan song began to find it way into Opera. Composers such as Giambattista Pergolesi, Alessandro Scarlatti, and Domenico Cimarosa would integrate these songs into their larger works. Their performances would introduce Neapolitan songs to a greater audience.

However, it was during the nineteenth century when the Neapolitan song reached new heights. Composers such as Gioacchino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini, Gaetano Donizetti, and Saverio Mercadante brought these melodies into the realm of popular music.
