Aspects of Italian and American History
Business and Industry
The Italian American businessman and industrialist received two important things from their immigrant parents: assets, in the form of cash and property, and training through hands-on apprenticeship. These two items formed the basis of Italian American business and industry.
Like their ancestors, these Italian-Americans were motivated to work hard, buy land, build a house, and bring the family together. However, language was not a barrier for this generation and they quickly emerged as a powerful force in business and industry.
